Alissa Macpherson
Alissa advises employers in all areas of labour and employment law, including human rights and privacy law. She also represents both employers and employees in wrongful dismissal actions. Alissa has co-authored several papers and articles on various labour and employment related topics. She is a member of the Employment, Labour, and Human Rights sub-sections of the Canadian Bar Association.
Alissa obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology from Simon Fraser University in 2002 and her law degree from the University of British Columbia in 2006. Alissa articled with Roper Greyell and was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2007.
While attending law school, Alissa served as the Canadian Bar Association Representative for U.B.C. Alissa received several awards and scholarships during her academic career, and successfully represented U.B.C. at the British Columbia Law Schools Competitive Moot Competition.
Raised on Vancouver Island and originally from New Zealand, Alissa holds a passion for the outdoors. She has been a member of several soccer and field hockey teams, and continues to play competitive soccer. Alissa enjoys leading an active lifestyle, including running and hiking with friends.
