Barb advises employers in all areas of workplace law, both in the public and private sectors. Barb has a particular interest in workplace privacy law. She regularly advises clients concerning their rights and obligations under applicable privacy legislation and assists employers with the development of privacy policies and best practices. Barb is also experienced in representing clients with matters before the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner. Barb also works with clients involved in applications for reconsideration, judicial reviews and appeals of decisions concerning all areas of workplace law both in the provincial and federal jurisdictions. This area of her practice involves the analysis of complex legal issues and the development of persuasive written submissions. For those who wish to consider their options, Barb prepares opinions regarding the prospects of a potential appeal. After earning her Bachelor of Arts Degree at the University of British Columbia, Barb ventured east to attend law school at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. After enduring several sub-zero Canadian winters, she returned home to article with a large national firm. Barb has practiced with Roper Greyell LLP and its predecessor since her call to the bar in 2002. Vancouver Canucks hockey is one of Barb’s greatest passions. From proudly displaying rare team memorabilia in her office to travelling throughout the continent to watch the team play in every Canadian rink and in many across the United States, she is the team’s most loyal fan. Seemingly against all odds, Barb’s faith does not waiver as she patiently waits for that moment when the Canucks hoist their first Stanley Cup. |
