Duncan provides strategic advice and legal representation to employers in all areas of labour, employment and human rights law. Over the years, he has gained significant experience representing employers in court, and before various administrative tribunals including Boards of Arbitration, Labour Relations Boards and Human Rights Tribunals. Duncan was selected to be included in the 2010 edition of The Best Lawyers in Canada in the area of Labour and Employment Law.

Duncan has come to be respected for his ability to provide knowledgeable, frank and balanced advice and for vigorously pursuing his clients' rights when necessary.

Before founding Roper Greyell LLP, Duncan practised labour and employment law for many years at Greyell MacPhail LLP, a firm established in 1991 by Duncan MacPhail and Bruce Greyell. Before that, he was a labour partner at a medium size full service firm. He was called to the Bar in 1980 after graduating from the University of British Columbia.

As the founding Managing Partner of Roper Greyell LLP and Greyell MacPhail LLP, Duncan has a long history of managing business affairs. Experience gained in this capacity together with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from U.B.C. provide him with invaluable insight into understanding the business needs of clients seeking legal representation.
