Liisa Spoor


Focusing on targeted solutions and effective advocacy, Liisa provides strategic advice on all aspects of employment and labour law, including human rights and privacy.

Liisa practised with the Labour, Employment and Human Rights group at a large national firm before joining Roper Greyell in 2006. She also has extensive experience in labour relations, human rights and privacy through her previous career at Telus.

Liisa has authored various publications on human rights, privacy and employment law, and is a contributing author to the Annual Review of Law and Practice, Human Rights Law (2006) and to MacKillop & Echlin, Employment Law: Solutions for the Canadian Workplace (2005).

Liisa is a member of the Canadian Association of Counsel to Employers, Human Resources Management Association of B.C., and Employment, Labour, Human Rights, and Privacy sections of the Canadian Bar Association.

Liisa received her law degree from U.B.C. Law School in 2004. While at U.B.C., she led the Dispute Resolution Program research team in re-design of dispute resolution at the B.C. Human Rights Tribunal. Liisa was an advocate in the Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Vienna, competing against 130 teams from around the world. Also, she was awarded first prize as best advocate in the U.B.C. Mediation Moot.

Liisa also enjoys time with family, running, skiing, and travel.
