Marino J. Sveinson

Marino provides strategic result-oriented advice and representation with respect to all stages of workplace matters in unionized and non-unionized workplaces in both the provincial and federal sectors.  He acts for both employers and executives with respect to contract terms, termination issues and wrongful dismissal disputes.  Marino also focuses on workplace human rights and privacy issues.  He has represented clients at all levels of the courts in B.C., labour arbitrations, the Human Rights Tribunal, and the Labour Relations Board.

Marino received a Bachelor of Arts degree (Psychology) from the University of British Columbia and a law degree from the University of Toronto before being called to the Bar in B.C. in 2000. He practised labour and employment law at a large national firm in Vancouver before joining Greyell·MacPhail in early 2002, the predecessor to Roper Greyell.  He has been Co-Chair of the Human Rights Continuing Legal Education course in B.C. since 2002 and was past Co-Chair of the Human Rights Section of the Canadian Bar Association (B.C.).

Outside of work, Marino enjoys music, travel and sports, especially at the beach and on the mountain.
